Idlewild Cottage is a whole-property let with private parking space and large enclosed garden with summer house. Hinderwell is history rich being mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086 and is within the stunning North Yorkshire National Park, with all it has to offer. There is a twice an hour bus service, within 2 minutes’ walk, taking you up to Saltburn or across to Whitby making access to the NYM Steam Railway in easy reach.

Relax on the sofas and enjoy a roaring fire in the log burner, or be out and about enjoying the beaches, the Cleveland Way coastal trail, the woods and the moors or the much loved, quirky, Whitby with its variety of cocktail bars, restaurants, and events. The garden is enclosed and private, with a summer house that provides you with the indoor/outdoor experience of being able to sit snuggled inside with blankets, enjoying a night fire in the dog grate, whilst sitting out of the wind on cooler nights.  This furniture is transferable to the garden for outdoor lounging on warm days and evenings.

The cottage is well equipped and easily accommodates 4 adults having 2 bedrooms (1 king size bed and pine bunk beds) plus an additional sleeping offer of a double sofa bed with a cosy 8” thick mattress for 2 additional people if required.  A ceiling fan is installed in the larger bedroom.   A travel cot is available for your use – (bedding not supplied.)

The bathroom boasts a cast iron roll top bath providing a comforting and romantic atmosphere to luxuriate in with overhead daisy shower.

The cottage is cosy with a good sized living/dining room with two sofas, a 36” television, free wifi.  The kitchen is separate to the living space, well equipped, with washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster for your convenience.

The property does not allow pets, so you can rest assured that those with sensitivities to animal fur etc., can enjoy a sneeze free stay and your children can play in the garden safely. The linens and bedding are hypoallergenic.

Idlewild is over 170 years old, with a private entrance, and gives you the comfort of a memorable getaway where you can get cosy on the sofas in front of the lovely log burner, enjoy the peace, the dark skies showing the countless stars for you to wonder at.

The cottage is close to local amenities; the village has 2 pubs, a fish ‘n chip shop, an independent butcher/grocery shop selling delicious local produce, and for those special occasions, there is a Michelin Guide detailed restaurant within walking distance – absolutely fabulous.
